May 23 - Jazz Jamaica - Tighten Up!

£17, £9 under 12s (increases to £20 & £10 from 9 May, inc. reservations)

Members of Jazz Jamaica

The popular Jazz Jamaica makes its first visit to Bury St Edmunds Festival with a gem of a show that really must not be missed! Tighten Up! will use the formidable power of the award-winning Jazz Jamaica to pay tribute to the music and artists who have made a massive contribution to cultural diversity in the UK and around the world.

Jazz Jamaica features an impressive line-up of established, new and rising stars performing newly-commissioned arrangements of some of the most popular tracks from the classic Jamaican repertoire such as Harry J All Stars’ ‘Liquidator’ (still played today at Chelsea FC), Ken Booth’s reworking of Bread’s ‘Everything I Own’, and Tony Tribes upbeat version of ‘Red Red Wine’, to name but a few.

For those who love reggae, rocksteady, ska and jazz and for those who just want to party!
