The Urban Playground

The Urban Playground is the world's only purpose-built tourable structure for the practice and performance of Parkour-inspired physical theatre and dance. Presented by the UPG Team & Gravity Style these performances fuse Parkour and Free-Running with contemporary dance and breaking to produce choreographies reflecting the environments in which they're created. The band achieved worldwide fame in the film Brassed Off and won the English National Championship in 2007. As the current National Champion Band, Grimethorpe Colliery Band will represent England at the European Brass Band Championships to be held in Stavanger just one week before their visit to us in Bury St Edmunds. They will be performing a programme of new works alongside brass band classics.
