Featuring five of the country's most talented and respected recorder players, Fontanella uses a huge range of instruments from the tiny Garklein down to the huge seven foot contra bass. This concert will explore the golden age of English consort music from the Tudor times, including works by Dowland and Byrd and complemented by music from modern day composers inspired by early English masters.

Drawing on young talented musicians at the start of their professional careers from all over Europe, concerts by the European Union Chamber Orchestra are consistently brilliant. They will be joined for this concert by the cellist Natalie Clein, a winner of Young Musician of the Year who is rapidly gaining an international reputation as an artist of exceptional musicality and integrity.
